Snowy day...

Well, it's snowing again. I don't really care because I am going to Amma and Pop's tonight!!! Mom and Dad are going out to dinner and I can't wait!

That picture of Beau's "biscuits" is for Amma... and It may serve as blackmail material down the road here too.

Ok, off to Becks!

Hang in there brother!

Beau has his 2 month "well check" tomorrow... I was kind of getting him prepared for what he may face at the Doctor's office: some poking, prodding, getting weighed, etc... the important thing to remember is to touch EVERYTHING in the waiting room, you never know what germs you may catch! Also, don't be too overly concerned with the "percentiles" they give you. That is just so parents can brag about the rapid weight gain of their child because they really have nothing else to talk about. Look, when I was just a wee little chap like Beau they told me that I was going to be tall and skinny... The Fairbanks are neither tall, nor skinny. Our people have evolved into being pleasantly average and we are fine with it. The percentiles are a bunch of crap.

I am at Becky's tomorrow. Kind of wish I was going to Dr. Campbell's too... he is pretty cool.

Oh, I almost forgot! I was introduced to 80's music today on XM radio. I am hooked!!!

Can I get a little privacy? and maybe a magazine?

Well... I used the potty today. I was getting really good at it for a while there before Beau came and then... not so much.

Dad had me in just a diaper and then I got some good "free-balling" time today too! I like that. Dad was laughing very hard because I sat on the potty, starting grunting, and more grunting, and then a pause, some more grunting.. then... voila! I pee'd. That's right, I grunted out a pee. Not sure why this was so funny. I did earn some M&M's for my trouble though...

Brady

Giddy up!

NOTES FROM MAMA:

Hey everyone... I wanted to take this opportunity to make my first post on here. Brady ok'd my use of his blog and I promise to be brief. Yesterday was a big day for us. Pat was formally accepted as a recruit agent with the Lakewood Police Department! The hiring process was very tough and took about 6 months all together. He starts the police academy on March 12th. We are very proud of him- especially Brady.

Things are crazy around here as usual. Beau is growing so fast. He isn't our little peanut anymore. On a side note, he burps like an adult, which is very fun when in public and people assume I am the guilty party.

Braden is 2 1/2 now and sometimes acts every bit like a 2 year old... most of the time he is a good, sweet boy that seems like he is much older than he really is. Kind of sad, he is such a little man!!!

Hope all is well,

Kelly

Greetings on a Friday...

I have had some requests for more pictures of my baby brother: here ya go! Dad took us to Amma and Pop's last night to "visit"... he seems to do that a lot when Mom works late and it is his turn to cook dinner because Amma always invites us to stay for dinner AND sends a plate home for Mama (which she did last night and my Mama was very happy to eat Amma's cooking instead of Dad's)

Speaking of the pictures: I was sure that Poppy was going to get Beau to start giggling last night... almost. The adults are funny sometimes. It seems that every time Beau does something new they say: how old was Braden when he did that? and... usually they can't remember how old I was but they say it EVERY time anyways. That poor little brother is always being compared to me, that must be hard for him. lol.

Today is a big day for Dad. He may officially have a job later! Personally, I have been getting quite comfortable with unemployed Dad. Unemployed Dad is pretty fun... we have played tons of games, done our fair share of wrestling, watched movies, laughed so hard we nearly pee'd, (I actually did pee) learned to make some new funny faces, read a lot of books, and basically Dad and I have given Mom a big headache running crazy all over the house. I think he is secretly a bit sad to have to go back to work because he told me he has had a blast with me and Beau over the past few months. Oh well, it couldn't last forever.

Have a nice Friday!

Weds/Thurs = Daycare

Ok... today is the last leg of daycare for the week. I like to play with my buds at daycare but I really like to just be home. Sometimes I get a little bored at Becky's since she usually only has 4 or 5 kids and only one other little guy my age. Yesterday Becky took us outside! That was great... it was 60 degrees and I played dump trucks outside in the sand box. I am looking forward to starting pre-school in the fall when I turn 3!!

Today, Mom and Dad are going to Mom's doctors appointment and then out to lunch (Beau gets to go with them) Dad is going for the free lunch AND since Mom is the only one that is working now, she pretty much calls the shots. They thought they were being sneaky talking about their big outing in "adult speak" at dinner last night but I knew what was up... when Dad was tucking me in for bed I looked at him with my best brown-eyed sad face and said " I want to go with you and Mama tomorrow!" He looked at me kind of surprised and said : "where?" and I said " out for lunch" That caused Dad to smile and call in Mom and they went on to wonder how I knew what they were talking about at dinner. Mom explained to me that Becky expects to have me 2 days a week and that just because my Father is currently an unemployed loser... I still don't get to stay home all day with him watching The Price is Right and drinking 40 ounce Colt .45's.

Smile....

We finally got Beau to smile on camera!!

Just a side note: when Poppy saw his picture he said "why didn't you just bring that little bugger over here to see me if you wanted smiles?!"

He is right too... Beau just smiles and smiles at Poppy when we go to their house.

Not so sure about the "undies"

Ok... so we are working on the potty training. I put on some big boy undies yesterday (Lightning McQueen!) and I prefered to wear them backwards since it is hard to see the picture in the mirror the other way. I was doing real well with my potty training until Beau came and then things have sort of slowed down. Why use the toilet when my Mom and Dad change my diapers so fast anyways? Mom has been threatening to leave the dirty diapers on me for a while so that I get sick of it... we'll see. I bet that I can out last her.

Alright, I am off the Rec Center: Play School!!

P.S.- Yes, that IS nail polish on my toes and one hand. Mama really wishes she had a girl.

Watch yo mouth!

I got to hear Dad cuss today... he said "G.D. it ! " I hate it when he takes the lords name in vain... on a Sunday no less!

Here's what happened: Dad and I were trying to get Beau to smile so that he could get a picture for you, my loyal readers. Anyways, Beau smiled a lot but for some reason the camera had some sort of delay on it and we have a bunch of pictures just after the little dude smiled! Pretty funny really. I was laughing. Beau was smiling. Dad was swearing. So, here are some pics of Beau just after he smiled...

You can see my little dog, Ferguson Fiona Fairbanks is in the second picture. I call her "baby girl". She is very sweet to me and likes to be wherever me and the little bro go! She sort of looks like a demon or alien with the green eyes but I assure you, she is just a regular dog.

...they toss it, and leave it and I pull up quick to retrieve it,

Wishin' my Bro would wake up, walk, talk, etc...

Saturday means it's Dad, Beau and I since Mom is off to work. Every Saturday before Mom leaves for work I say "cut good hairs today, Mama!!" This makes her laugh. I do miss her on Saturdays.

I really wish Beau would do something! I think he is cool and all, but come on: this is getting crazy. He doesn't even try to play with my stuff! Dad calls Beau: E.S.P (Eat, Sleep, Poop)

I will say that my little brother is starting to smile! and that is pretty cool. He seems like a nice little guy he just hasn't talked to me much yet. Ok, gotta run, the house isn't going to mess itself up!

Collaborate and Listen,

Brady

What a day!

Friday was awesome! Sid and Jack came over... Dad took all 3 of us to see the movie "Charlotte's Web" !! It was so much fun. The movie was great and so was my popcorn and Sprite!! I love to go to the movie theater- it was so huge. The pic above is of Jack, Sid and I watching Spongebob yesterday at home. This is pretty much how we looked at the movie theater too. Mom was glad to have a day at home with just Beau I think since she had to work late on Thursday night.

The Cousins are coming! The Cousins are coming! The Cousins are coming!

Sidney and Jack are coming to spend the day at my house today! All I can say is: YES! When they get here my plan is to run around the house as fast as I can a couple times just to let them know how excited i am to see them, then I will give them some hugs. I like Mom and Dad and all... but having both Sid and Jack here to play with me?! Are you kidding!?!?!?!?

Uncle Jeff and Aunt Patty are leaving for Germany today and I am sure they will have a fun time. Sid and Jack are staying with Amma and Pop (I wish I was too!) but today they are coming to see me!!

I will update later with some pictures...

Sidney's a good singer!

We went to a play at Sid's school tonight and I loved it!! Mom and Dad were surprised that I just watched the entire thing without trying to get down or run crazy (I feel like I am always good- maybe they disagree?)The secret to my good behavior was that I was on Poppy's lap. Anyways, Sidneys class of 1st graders did a cool musical about the good old U.S. of A. They did the Pledge of Allegiance AND the National Anthem as well as some pretty fun dances. We even got to go into her classroom afterward! I gave Sid some roses after her performance (Mom's idea) and she loved that!!! I am excited to go to school one day. Dad told me that he went to the same school when he was just a little chap... hard to believe.

PEACE,

Brady

Missing my Amma...

Amma and Poppy live only a 1/2 mile away... AND I still haven't seen them in at least a week!!! That is just too long for me to go without seeing them! They were in Arizona drinking wine last weekend.

The pic above is from Amma's house... Good times. I was painting. It is so fun there. We paint, play games, ride in Poppy's truck, listen to music, dance, watch movies, Amma gives me a bath. I think Mom and Dad should go away soon or at least out for dinner so that I could have some quality time with Amma and Pop!!!

Claw Toe

When a new Fairbanks baby is born the happy parents don't count the fingers and toes... they look to see if the little bundle of joy has THE toe. The Fairbanks Toe. Most of my relatives are afflicted with this strange phenomenon. I know that Poppy, Uncle Jeff, Dad, Aunt Kelly (severe case) Beau, and myself all have it. I am not sure about Allison, Alex, Riley, Sid or Jack? maybe they have it? The above picture is of my little "tootsies" at about 3 months.. pay close attention to the baby toe (the last toe) on each foot. Those suffering from the Fairbanks toe or the claw toe have basically the same symtoms: a tiny or dwarf baby toe that is sort of curled sideways. The sideways slant makes the toe have an incredibly sharp callus on the edge/tip that is very good for wounding/slicing a spouse on the legs while laying in bed... so I have that going for me when I get married. It kind of looks like the poor little toe is taking a siesta on its side. Not a pretty sight. This freakish little digit sort of reminds some people of a dog's dew claw and is every bit as useful. Dad says that the Fairbanks' of the future will likely have evolved to having only 4 toes, if only to spare innocent people from having to see it.

Bedtime.

Brady

P.S. Dad thinks he could be a hand model. I told him that the fact that he doesn't bite his fingernails doesn't mean his hands could move product on Madison Avenue... plus- look how stubby they are!! Oh well, let him dream.

Other books are simply imposters

If it is book time, then it is time for Chicka Chicka Boom Boom! I won't allow Mom or Dad to read ANY books until this one has been read first. I call it "Chicken Boom Boom" That's all fine and good but here is the problem: Chicka Chicka Boom Boom was due back at the library yesterday! My parentals may have to actually break out a little $$ and buy a book. Who goes to the library these days anyhow? Who am I, Laura Ingalls Wilder? Well guess what Pa, Half-Pint wants to own this book... We have high speed internet for god's sake... couldn't they have ordered MY FAVORITE BOOK IN THE ENTIRE WORLD on Amazon by now? We've had it for 3 weeks! Now, they are going to have to deal with me when we get to bedtime tonight and there is no "Boom Boom" to read. Like I always say: If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.

Back to Work!

Well... it finally happened. Dad drove my Mom out of the house and back to work early today... she decided to work on a few clients this morning. Mom was much happier than usual today and I think I saw her look at my Dad and say something about not wanting to stare at his big head watching TV... Maternity leave just ain't what it used to be!!!!

Good news! We are having company later today. This means that my peeps will have to feverishly clean the house. I know it will happen- I have seen it many times before.

Wish I didn't know now, what I didn't know then...

Brady

And... here is yet another picture of my little brother not doing anything.

Playin' in the snow!

I helped Dad out with a little ice removal yesterday. He gets picky about the driveway sometimes... and then other times he could really care less. Oh well, it was really fun because in the low spot of the driveway there is a huge puddle (I call it a lake) and Dad was scraping out the ice that has built up (maybe because it has snowed every week for 2 months!?) and chopping out the ice and doing a lot of muttering, grunting and making noises. I made him laugh really hard because I started grunting too and imitating how he was stooped over. I was also throwing ice chunks back into the lake just to see if it would splash. I LOVE to be outside. It has been nice with the warm weather this week! It's supposed to get cold again this weekend.

Good times.

Brady

P.S. Amma and Pop are going to Arizona today for the weekend. They are looking at houses and looking to go toe to toe with a few bottles of Pinot Noir. I wish they would take me along... just me though... trust me here Amma, Beau would be too hard for you, so just take me. Please. I promise not to make too big a deal out of the fact that Poppy is currently my hero. Seriously Amma, I will NOT "Blind Bobby" you! I Swear!

Busy day...

I am off to Becky's today. I am a little bummed but only because I don't like to have to hustle in the mornings. Here is new picture of Beau for you. He is getting pretty big and he is a good sleeper now (like I care!)

Have a great day!

Mama's big adventure!

Mom went on a ride-along today with the po-po to witness Dad's new career first hand and hopefully find out what the hell is wrong with him!
Well, it appears to have backfired as Mama said it was GREAT and she really enjoyed herself. She witnessed a felony bust and got to see several people arrested. The officer that she went with is the husband of one of Mom's clients and he works for the same department that Dad will be working for so she wanted to see what Dad was getting himself into.

Dad is excited that she liked it and I heard him say this: "Maybe she will want to 'rough up the suspect' later tonight"

I have no idea what that means, although I just threw up in mouth a little.

I'll be your huckleberry,

Brady

60 Flippin' degrees?!

Ok... what a strange winter we are having. Last Friday it got down to -5 in Denver. Today it is going to be at least 60 degrees! It was over 60 yesterday too. Seems like a great day to go outside... except Dad has no clue what clothes to put on me since it's warm but there is still 2 feet of snow on the ground and now there are HUGE puddles everywhere. Maybe we will wear shorts, T-shirts, gloves and boots? who knows...

Too cool for Pre-School,

Welcome to the abyss...

Well... The NFL is over for the season. Not sure what Dad and I are going to do with ourselves. The Super-Bowl was fun. Looks like I am getting a new pair of shoes thanks to the Colts!!! Cousin Mary (Mom's cousin) and Uncle Dick (I call him Uncle Penis) came over and they brought a turkey! a cooked turkey! It was good. I didn't really get to see Dad for about 4 hours as he was hunkered down watching the game.

This is the time of year that we call the "sports abyss". I suppose a person could watch the NBA (Nah) and there is always baseball... I am pretty sure that the Rockies have been mathematically eliminated from the playoffs already. I imagine Boston and New York fans still get excited for the start of baseball but here in places where we have no chance to win we are just excited to get to go outside and watch another 5 1/2 hour, 15-10 game. Whatever. It kind of makes me miss Denny Neagle and his $20 hookers.

Nana Foy left a little while ago for the airport. Her visit was short and I will miss her.

Thank you baby Jesus for Rex Grossman,

Brady

SUPER BOWL!

Game day is finally here! Dad and I have already played a little football in the basement... If you ask me he is a little easy to take down but maybe I am just a devastating tackler? Dad keeps telling me that maybe I should consider being a kicker or punter... WHAT?! something about 5'8" white guys not making it very far at middle linebacker... thanks for squashing my dreams at the age of 2 !
I have to apologize for the obscene pic with this post but I figure that it was on network television so why not here? To me, the naked booby (or is it boobie?) isn't obscene... what IS obscene and uncalled for is that it was a 40 year old boob. They couldn't find a 22 yr. old to get naked? It was the Super Bowl afterall. Whatever, on to the pick... (Dad has a pick on his blog so you can see who is closer to getting it today-we have wagered a chocolate milk on the game) Here is how I see this game playing out... early is the first half, Colts DE Dwight Freeney is going to hold up a mirror to Rex Grossman who will gaze into said mirror and come to a realization: "holy crap! I am Rex Grosman! I suck" and... at that point the Bears will fall apart:

COLTS 41

Bears 26

Drink up,

Auntie Kelly is the best!

Take a good close look at the booties in the picture... they are the ONLY thing that will fit my baby bro Beau. Auntie Kelly and Uncle Art "tiste" gave them to Beau last week and he has been wearing them ever since. Poor Beau, I have like 10 pairs of shoes and he just has the one pair of booties that fit. Beau has long skinny feet and none of his socks will stay on him so the booties have been a life saver. Dad says that Beau must have Mom's feet because the Fairbanks' all have feet that are the shape of paper-back books. It's a wonder we can even balance on our little 2X4 feet...

I better get to bed.

See ya tomorrow,

Brady

Friday...

My cousins Sidney and Jack came over with Aunt Patty to play and have dinner. Uncle Jeff was still working, bummer. We went a little crazy and had lots of fun (like always) Here are a couple pics of Sid with Beau. Not the best shots of Beau as he was a little pissed.. but who cares? Sidney looks great, and she told me that is all that matter!

Just Chillin',

Movie review: OPEN SEASON

Welcome to a brand new feature on Brady's blog: a movie review!

I watched the animated masterpiece "Open Season". This film is the story of a domesticated grizzly bear named Boog (voiced by Martin Lawrence- I guess Eddie Murphy was too expensive?) and a fast talking mule deer named Elliot (voiced by Ashton Kutcher- he is always available) Boog and Elliot work together to unite the creatures of the forrest against an evil hunter. This movie is fast paced, fun, and best of all has a good life lesson: humans are bad and animals are good.

I liked the movie but I was torn a little because I also like to eat animals almost every day- especially the animals that Dad cooks on the BBQ that can be dipped in various sauces! Yummmmmm.....

OPEN SEASON: 4 sippy cups/out of a possible of 5

Shout out to Nana for bringing the movie for me!

Cinematically yours,

Brady

Nana is here!

What a great day this has been. First, more snow! Some of the adults around here are more than a little annoyed but I think it's awesome! Then Nana shows up and brings me a new DVD: "OPEN SEASON" ! I wanted to watch it all night but had to go to bed... bummer.

I just can't get over the fact that Nana is here! Before I went to bed I looked at Nana and said: "Are you not going anywhere? will you be here for cereal tomorrow?" So I was pretty stoked that she came to visit. Lots of pics for you to check out. Here are a couple of me with Nana and then Beau with Nana.

CIAO,

Brady

Nana Foy arrives today!

Nana is coming in from New Mexico today! I haven't seen her in quite a while so I am pretty excited. I hope she likes football. Mom is picking her up at the airport today and she will be at my house when I get home from Becky's. Just for the record: Dad was against me using the airplane picture that I choose to put on here, something about how the Concorde doesn't fly anymore and that even if it did- it wouldn't go from Albuquerque to Denver. Well, ok Dad. Thanks for the fantastic "advice" but you can put whatever you want on YOUR blog, but this one is mine. When was the last time you updated your blog anyways?

PEACE,

Brady
