Kick back, relax: Free money is on the way!

Ok. This is a new segment to Brady's Blog: FREE MONEY NFL FOOTBALL PICKS! I realize it is a little unorthodox for a 2 yr. old to give gambling advice but just stay with me here- this is all about you- dear reader and adding cash (also known as "cake") to your pocket. Here we go. Home teams are in ALL CAPS.

Indianapolis Colts vs. B-MORE RAVENS (-4)
I am calling this game: "Suspicious Minds"
This is a matchup of opposing styles and strengths. Colts head coach Tony Dungy is brilliant defensive coach with a sub-par defense and great offense- while Ravens coach Brian Billick is known as a great offensive coach that has a great defense and average offense. Go figure. A wise gambler once told me to seek out popular public opinion... then go the other way. The "public" is firmly in the Ravens corner on this game, and why not? A great defense against a Colts team that has shown the willingness to pull a major choke job every year in the playoffs. The odds makers are trying to get you to take the Ravens and lay the points. It is interesting that for each of the past 3 seasons the Colts have been THE team most everyone favored to win it all. Now they are not even considered good enough to get to the AFC Championship? what happened? Key matchup that you may not have considered: Colts Defensive end Dwight Freeney vs. Ravens All-world offensive tackle Jonathan Ogden. Ogden is 6'9" and 345lbs. while Freeney (6'1" 268) is considered a speed rusher. In a regular season game in 2004 Freeney abused Ogden with the outside rush and had 2 sacks and several hits on the QB. The Ravens will have to keep a running back in to "chip" at Freeney in passing situations, making their offense even more predictable and boring than it has been in the regular season if that is even possible. If the Colts defense can put the Ravens in 3rd and long situations it will be a very long day for Ogden and the Ravens Offense. One more thing to consider: Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri is as clutch a playoff performer as we have seen in the last 10 years. I say Vinatieri wins this on a late field goal 27-24.
The first free money pick of the playoffs is the Colts +4. It pains me to have to root for Peyton Manning who I think is a first class A-hole. Just watch Manning when there is a incompletion on a key play... he waves his arms and immediately yells at his receiver. On the other hand, Ravens QB Steve Mcnair is a professional, a tough guy, and deserves a championship... but, alas I don't think it's meant to be this year- the Colts are the barking dog today.

By the way: I am not sure who I like less: Peyton Manning (see above) or Ravens Coach Brian Billick who is as smug as they come and I get the feeling that he always thinks he is the smartest guy in the room. Well Brian, maybe you should use some of your massive intellect to work on that crappy offense of yours.

Good Luck- I may have more picks later,

Brady
